Sioux Falls Robbery and Burglary Lawyer
Ryan Duffy Law has vast experience in handling burglary and robbery cases. Burglary cases involve entering or remaining in another person’s property with the intent to commit any other crime. Burglary prosecutions often involve allegations of entering another’s property with the intent to commit a theft, but also commonly include allegations that an assault or vandalism was committed inside another person’s home or garage. There are three degrees of burglary charges (burglary 1st degree, burglary 2nd degree, and burglary 3rd degree). Factors such as the time of the incident and whether or not the structure was occupied determine what degree may be alleged by prosecutors.
Robbery cases are very serious as they involve the use of force to take another person’s property. There are two levels of robbery charges (robbery 1st degree and robbery 2nd degree). Robbery 1st degree charges are based upon the use of a weapon or simulated weapon and could result in a sentence of up to 25 years in the penitentiary. Robbery 2nd degree does not involve the use of a weapon or simulated weapon but still involves the use of force and can lead to a penitentiary sentence. Contact our office for a free case review!
