Sioux Falls Sentence Modification Attorney![]() Ryan Duffy Law has helped countless clients with motions to modify a previous sentence for both felony and misdemeanor convictions. The original sentencing Court retains jurisdiction to modify a sentence for ONLY two years following the date of sentencing or the formal entry of the Judgment and Sentence, so time is of the essence in sentence modification requests. In some cases, clients are seeking to obtain a suspended imposition of sentence so that the conviction can be removed from his or her record after successfully completing a period of time on parole, probation or on conditions. We have helped other clients have their probationary period shortened or ended early to accommodate a new life, work, or school circumstance. We have also secured sentence reductions for clients who had been convicted of a felony offense and were incarcerated in the penitentiary at the time of the request to modify, resulting in a reduction of the original sentence and a much earlier release date from the penitentiary. Ryan Duffy Law can assist you or a family member by preparing all of necessary motions, documents, and representing you at sentence modification hearing if necessary. (See SDCL 23A-27-19).
